The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) is a collaborative group of leading automotive manufacturers, including BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault SA, and Volkswagen, along with their respective trade associations. Established to harmonize quality management systems within the automotive industry, the IATF initially published ISO/TS 16949 in 2009. This standard has since evolved, culminating in the release of IATF 16949:2016 in October 2016. The updated standard reflects the industry’s need for enhanced quality measures, operational excellence, and a strong alignment with ISO 9001:2015.
