Derek is the Founder and CEO of Hiredly, Malaysia’s leading recruitment platform. He started his career at Ernst & Young UK, gaining valuable global and corporate experience. At Robert Walters Malaysia, he became a Global Top Achiever and discovered his passion for recruitment. In 2014, Derek joined Stanford University’s entrepreneurship program, learning directly from world class founders. He had previously already shown a love for innovation, teaching himself software engineering at age 11 before the internet was mainstream. Today, Derek is a recognised voice in recruitment and talent, often featured in media like The Edge, BFM, and Astro. He also hosts the Hello Mentor Podcast, featured by Tatler Asia, where he shares career advice from leading industry figures.
